Rebecca Rudisill

It is with the greatest honor that I have chosen Rebecca Rudisill as March's CASA Advocate of the Month. Rebecca has served as a voice for 3-year-old Patrick for the last 2 years. Patrick was born to a teen mom, who herself was placed in foster care due to medical neglect. Patrick was born with sickle cell disease and required a level of care that the 15-year-old mother could not provide. Though assigned to Patrick, Rebecca began to take an interest in his mother as well. She would often encourage the mother to visit Patrick, advocate in court for a simplified version of the case plan, assist with reminders for Patrick's many medical appointments, and the list goes on.

Although the mother lives in Ponchatoula, LA, Rebecca advocated for more frequent visits between mother and child, offering transportation for Patrick when her schedule allowed. In addition to visiting the daycare and building rapport with the mother, child, and foster parent, Rebecca even assisted the court by delivering a birthday cake to the mother for her 18th birthday. Professional court reports and collaboration with the DCFS case manager are all hallmarks of a great CASA Advocate. Rebecca possesses all of these qualities and much more, providing a well-rounded approach to serving her CASA child to the best of her abilities. I am so very proud to have Rebecca on my team.

Thank you, Rebecca, for being such a blessing to Patrick, his mother, and all those you've helped while working on behalf of your CASA child.

Proud Advocate Supervisor, Tony J. Pryer
