September Volunteer of the Month

As I considered who deserved the title of Volunteer of the Month, one name stood out: Seril Carroll. Since completing her preservice training on February 16, 2023, Ms. Carroll has demonstrated unwavering dedication to CASA and the families she serves. Her commitment to excellence is evident in her first CASA case, assigned on February 28, 2023, which successfully closed on January 19, 2024, with the children reunited with their family. Undeterred, she accepted another case on March 6, 2024, and immediately formed a strong bond with the child and paternal grandmother.

Ms. Carroll embodies the ideal CASA volunteer: dedicated, motivated, and determined. She attends all court hearings, family team meetings, and submits timely notes. Her monthly meetings with her CASA child and consistent monitoring of visits with the mother demonstrate her unwavering commitment. Moreover, her kindness, patience, and generosity inspire joy, learning, and positive energy in the lives of her CASA kids. Her creative activities, encouraging words, and compassionate listening make a lasting impact.

I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude to Ms. Carroll for her selfless dedication to CASA and the families she serves. Her work is a testament to the power of kindness and its profound influence on young lives. Volunteers like her are the cornerstone of our community, and we are fortunate to have her.

Proud Advocate Supervisor,

Sheila L. Scott
