CASA Welcomes New Volunteers!
Capital Area Court Appointed Special Advocates Association welcomes 21 individuals who were officially sworn in as CASA volunteers by Juvenile Court Judge Gail Grover on the evening of January 26th, 2023. Each volunteer will be appointed to advocate for the best interests of an abused child.
CASA hosts Art Workshop for foster kids
Huge thank you to the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge for partnering with us on a fun-filled art project for our CASA volunteers and their CASA kids. Joe Dreher, also known as JOEKINGATL, is an artist who led this workshop that allowed these children to express themselves in a very unique way. Joe is an Artist, Architect, Photographer and Poet, who grew up in the foster care system himself.
CASA Honors Volunteers at Holiday Open House
Capital Area CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) Association honored its volunteers for their advocacy work on behalf of abused and neglected children at the 2022 CASA Holiday Open House held December 6 at the CASA office. CASA’s board of directors and staff hosted the event, which recognizes volunteers for their efforts to help children living in foster care reach safe, permanent homes.
